Fig. I — The studio, est. MMXV

A binary star system.

Good Omens is two founders orbiting one idea: carry wonder. Pedro keeps the architecture honest. Carlos makes the first ship possible. Twenty years, two hundred projects, one centre of gravity.

Braga · Porto · Italy — remote by conviction

Two bodies · one gravity

Fig. II — The two bodies

Body I & Body II

Good Omens builds performance-driven WordPress plugins — interactive maps, commerce tooling, and the frameworks underneath them. No upsells in the dashboard, no nag screens, no surprise trackers. Just the feature you installed, coded to scale.

Two founders, one shared bench. Pedro keeps the architecture honest; Carlos makes the first ship possible. Everything below is the evidence.

Body I

Pedro Carvalho

Full-Stack Developer & Studio Founder

20+ years and 200+ projects, from early-stage startups to high-traffic broadcasting platforms. Leads architecture, technical-debt reduction, deployment pipelines and mentoring, while keeping the studio honest about process.

Fig. III — The flight log

Twenty years, plotted

Scroll — the log reads sideways, like a star chart

  1. 2002

    Évora, first principles

Pedro enters computer science. The long apprenticeship begins.

  2. 2006

    The server room years

Web developer and sysadmin between Portugal and Morocco. 70+ WordPress ships, uptime as a religion.

  3. 2008

    LC43, first studio

End-to-end builds on self-operated Linux/Nginx infrastructure. The studio habit takes hold.

  4. c.2011

    Carlos, all-in on plugins

Fifteen years and counting of turning blank slates into shippable tools.

  5. 2015

    Good Omens founded

Two orbits find a shared gravity. Clients across the USA, Europe and Africa.

  6. 2016

    Newsroom speed

Forbes Portugal and ECO at WidgiLabs. Editorial block systems, years before Gutenberg.

  7. 2017

    Broadcasting scale

ARTE.tv. Monolith to modules, strict branching, production that stays stable.

  8. 2018

    WordCamp Europe

Team manager to core organizer through 2022. Hundreds of volunteers, one calm checklist.

  9. 2019

    Saltus Framework

A modular WordPress framework, co-architected. Maintenance overhead down by a third.

  10. 2024

    WordCamp Porto

Git branch strategies on stage: change management, logging, traceability.

  11. 2026

    Today

Two bodies, one gravity. Still carrying wonder.

Fig. IV — How the studio works

Four laws of motion

  1. Proof over promises

Every engagement ships with something you can audit: a deploy log, a demo, a diff. Confidence is earned in artifacts, not adjectives.

  2. Documentation is a deliverable

Tribal knowledge dies with the contract. We write the manual the next team will actually read, because we have been the next team.

  3. Open source is rent, paid monthly

Plugins shipped, translations filed, talks given, tools given back. The ecosystem carries us; we carry it.

  4. Accessibility is the floor

WCAG is where we start, not where we celebrate. Public broadcasting taught us that the audience is everyone.
